Congratulations to Fiona Brehony!
Fiona, a third year OOC PhD researcher and artist, presents River Stories. The project explores rivers as living archives, carrying environmental knowledge in their currents, and in the communities they shape beside them.
Working with Many Hands Craft Collective, HMG Paints, and communities across North Manchester, the exhibition features collaborative documentary films, poetry on fabric, sound installations, and short films created with community members and researchers. Together, they document the Rivel Irk as it flows through Victoria North, the UK's largest regeneration project.
As rivers and cities transform through regeneration, River Stories asks: whose knowledge shapes more equitable urban futures?
The exhibition runs until 21 March 2026. Find out more: River Stories – Exhibition – Manchester Histories
Bravo, Fiona - we are very proud of you!
