Matthew Coulter publishes an article in the Journal of Medieval History

Matthew's article ‘Patterns of Communication during the 1241 Mongol Invasion of Europe: Insights from the Ottobeuren Letter Collection’ has just been published online by the Journal of Medieval History and is available here (OA). It focuses on the first few months of the 1241 Mongol invasion of Europe when there were genuine fears that Germany and Bohemia would be the next targets for invasion after Hungary, and uses network diagrams to visualize the transmission of information between those involved in planning the defence of the region.
