Congratulations to Joseph Lewis (Cambridge) on recently publishing an article in the Journal of Archaeological Method and Theory.
Using the 'High Street' Roman road between the forts of Brougham and Ambleside in northwest England as its case study, this paper by PhD student Joseph Lewis argues that to strengthen the reliability of least cost path (LCP) results, the effects of error should be incorporated and propagated. The study aims to increase confidence in the use of LCP models for understanding past human movement, irrespective of the geographical or cultural context.
