Allyship within Education

About the workshop

This session will explore how to have conversations around race, gender, sexual identities, religion, abilities, neurodiversity, age, political stance, and other identity markers. As students and educators, we will discuss epistemically safe spaces and how to encourage and maintain them. We will explore the differences between academic debate, speaking through lived experiences and freedom of speech. In doing so we will cover battle fatigue, the weight of presentation and privilege fragility.

This workshop will be delivered by Lou Chiu. To find out more about Lou, please visit her website.
