Bringing together prize-winning historical fiction author, Imogen Hermes Gowar, and academic and historical film consultant, Dr Hannah Greig, this extended workshop will explore how history is conveyed through fiction and screen. In the first part of the session, the speakers will discuss their career paths and their experiences of communicating history to non-specialist audiences. The second half of the session will take the form of a practical workshop, in which participants will get to try their hand at creative writing under expert guidance. A sandwich lunch will be provided.
This session is convened in partnership with the Creative Industries Pathway.
The session will be split into two parts. We will have a traditional Heritage Pathway panel session from 11-12.30pm. There will then be a writing workshop for up to 30 attendees, to include lunch (starting immediately after the panel).
