About the session

Some digital humanities approaches involve numerical tools and techniques which are not always familiar to humanities scholars. This workshop provides an introduction to some of the statistical and numerical ideas used in DH, introducing some core concepts and providing a basis for further study as desired. There will be self-paced exercises mid-session which will simply require a web browser to access an online tool. This introductory workshop is ideal for students who have not previously been to an 'introduction to statistics' course, or wish to find out more about quantitative approaches in humanities.
