OOC DTP alumna Noëlle Rohde celebrates award-winning first book

Congratulations to Noëlle Rohde on the publication of her new book 'Marked' and for winning "First Book Competition" at LSE Press!

We are delighted to celebrate OOC DTP alumna Noëlle Rohde on the publication of her new book, based on the doctoral research she undertook as part of the OOC DTP.

Published by LSE Press as a Diamond Open Access title, the book was awarded the publisher’s prestigious First Book Competition, recognising the originality and significance of Noëlle’s research.

The book explores themes emerging from Noëlle’s doctoral work in social anthropology and is freely available to read online

To celebrate the publication, an official book launch will take place at the London School of Economics on 8 October 2026. Those wishing to attend can register for tickets via Eventbrite.

Noëlle is a social anthropologist with a philosophy background and an interest in the social dimension of numbers. She earned her doctorate from the University of Oxford and currently holds a postdoctoral scholarship at Paderborn University where she investigates quantification in sports (and writes excellent books).

Massive congratulations, Noëlle, on this well-deserved recognition.

Seeing our alumni transform doctoral research into award-winning books is exactly what the OOC DTP aims to support. We are immensely proud of Noëlle’s achievement and wish her every success as her work reaches new audiences. We can’t wait to see where her research leads next.
