We are very pleased to share news of OOC DTP student Rafael Pérez Evans’ major institutional exhibition, Brown Notes, currently showing at MOSTYN in Llandudno.
Running from 11 July to 3 October 2026, the exhibition forms part of Rafael’s DPhil research and explores ideas around care, compassion and togetherness. His work considers these themes through materials and experiences that invite audiences to engage with questions of social fracture, connection and collective care.
The exhibition has also received some fantastic recent coverage. In July, Brown Notes was reviewed by FAD Magazine, in an article looking at Rafael’s Physical Demand for Compassion. This was followed in August by a review in Frieze Magazine, Rafael Pérez Evans Confronts Britain’s Care Crisis, which considers the exhibition and its engagement with care and solidarity.
It has been a real pleasure for us at the OOC DTP to follow Rafael’s work. We particularly appreciate the way his practice takes important and sometimes difficult questions around care, compassion and how we relate to one another, and explores them in such an imaginative and thought-provoking way. We are delighted to see his research and artistic practice reaching wider audiences and receiving this recognition.
