I studied and graduated at the University of Pisa both at BA and MA level with dissertations about serpent symbolism in Keats’s poetry and otherworldly communication in British and American prose works of the first half of the 19th century. At the same time, I was a student at the Scuola Normale Superiore, where I did research on Keats, Emily Brontë and Woolf. My research interests focus mainly on British nineteenth-century literature – in particular Romanticism, Keats, Gothic literature and the supernatural – as well as on applications of literary theory and communication theory to textual analysis. My PhD project stems from my longstanding interest in literary representations of the communicative strategies of supernatural interactions and will analyse the issue of communication with the Other World in Romantic English poetry.
