I am a second-year PhD student at Corpus Christi College researching early modern Japanese script. I am interested in the ways in which the materiality of writing communicates meaning, and use literary, linguistic and visual analysis in my research. My Master's degree was at SOAS, before which I studied the art history of East Asia at the V&A. My undergraduate degree was in Japanese at the University of Edinburgh.
