I was previously based at the University of Oxford where, following my undergraduate degree in Theology and Religion, I completed a Clarendon-funded MPhil in Ecclesiastical History. Most recently, I was awarded the Ellerton Theological Essay Prize for the best MPhil dissertation submitted for examination at the University of Oxford. My doctoral research at the University of Cambridge is a development of this project, centring on early modern embroidery as a crucial site of women’s education, creativity, and the transmission of confessional identities. My work straddles the intersections between religion, material culture, and gender history, and is supervised by Professor Alexandra Walsham.
