I am a DPhil student in Theology at Wolfson College Oxford. My research focuses predominately on protestant non-conformist women between 1620 and 1640 in England. I will produce a prosopography to trace female figures; this will extend our understanding of radicalism across class and geographic boundaries. This questions current London-centric accounts and interrogates scholarly perceptions of ‘radicalism’.
I graduated with a first-class BA in History from Regents Park College Oxford in 2024, during which I completed a thesis – supervised by Dr Leif Dixon – about seventeenth century protestant usages of the Passion of Christ. Following from this, earlier this year I achieved an MSt in Early Modern History from Somerville College Oxford. My thesis - also supervised by Dr Leif Dixon - analysed seventeenth century protestant presentations of Mary Magdalen and was awarded a distinction.
My DPhil will be supervised by Dr Leif Dixon and Dr Sarah Apetrei. It is co-funded by the OOC AHRC-DTP and the Clarendon Fund for which I am very grateful.
